SEX ACTS

In development.
A professional performance working with non professional performers.

Sex Acts invites two age groups we perhaps don’t like to think of as having sex and certainly don’t expect to be engaging with each other about sex to talk, dance, laugh and cry about sex.

We want to bust some myths about what it means to grow old and what it is to be young, opening up a cross generational space for everyone to voice their experiences in a safe and bold way.  A frank, honest, confonting and funny engagement with people at the beginning and end of their sex lives. We envisage it will be emotional, entertaining, heart breaking, difficult, dark and surprising and will move beyond favourite dildos/buttplugs/lube into the deeper territory of life and death.

How does it work?

Workshops

We will work with a group of interested people from your venues immediate community, running devising and script development workshops, talking to these groups about sex, discussing their views and sharing stories. They will engage with theatre/dance/digital skills. The sessions will be supported by a therapist to ensure the environment and discussions are safe and supported. The project will be inclusive of people who identify as deaf/disabled and the performance will incorporate captioning as part of the performance language.

Script Development

Based on our sessions we will create a draft script and performance structure ready for a  rehearsal process.

Creation
Rehearsal Period: Over a period of 2 - 3 weeks we will work together to devise a performance present it in your venue.
